This is the second sermon in a four part series titled:THE FANTASTIC FOUR. We're looking at the theme of each of the four gospels and how they present Jesus to the reader and believer. This week we consider Mark: Jesus as Servant. The text is Mark 2:1-12, the story of the four men who bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus for healing, but encounter a crowd of people in the way preventing them from getting to Jesus. We consider the three facets of the story: the Jesus facet, the friends facet and the crowd facet. The challenge is to find ourselves in the story and reflect on how we can be more faithful in bringing people into the presence of Jesus with out getting "in the way."
