This week's sermon "A Firm Grip" is based on Hebrews 10:19-26. The author reminds the readers (and us) that we must continue to: 1) Hold unswervingly to the hope we profess; 2) Consider how we may spur one another on to acts of love and good deeds; 3) to not give up meeting together; and 4) to encourage one another in the faith. And he indicates that we are to do all these things because "He who promised is faithful." We live in a world and culture that denies much of what the Church stands for in our society. We need encouragers and are called to be encouragers. The Truth is that the "meetings" we plan and hold are all designed to "encourage" those who attend in their faithfulness.
